About Us

Mike grew up on the land that Fallen Oaks Ranch is founded on. He has always had a passion for animals, showing sheep and cattle in 4H when he was younger. He has an affinity for the unique breeds and colors that are uncommon. His happy place is outside on the ranch, sitting with the animals.

Kate grew up in the rural suburbs of New England and moved to the Midwest for her first job after college. She enjoys learning new things and dove headfirst into learning as much as she can about ranching, land stewardship, and the technical sides of starting a new business.

We met at our day job, where we continue to work together, and are recently married. We are both driven by continuous improvement and are always trying new things, keeping what works, and changing what doesn’t. Our goal is to give our animals the best lives they can have and to be good stewards to our land.
